We were appointed to investigate cracks on a property where the owner had noticed recent growth/appearance. The cracks were only present on the render and not the stone wall so initially this was assumed to be superficial. Closer assessment and investigation identified a bulge in the wall of approximately 20mm, corresponding closely with the depth of the crack. This warranted further opening up which revealed that the corner of the wall did not have a bonded return and had started delaminating. Our report recommended a solution to mechanically fix the corner edge of this wall back into the existing utilising a simple drilling and resin fixing methodology.
